Dave McKean

Looking at Dave McKean's image would seem as if it was just a simple image with just books stacked on top of each other but it really isn't. Other than just books there is also a man blending in the books. I love how in the image the man seems to be blending in with the books with the page texture McKean added. The mans hand seems to have a gradient because it changes from a book to the page texture to his hand and I love how Dave added that kind of effect it makes it stand out in that bottom dark area. I think that what the artist was trying to tell in this image is that reading builds a person's character and how its very important to learn new things and that can be by reading. I would describe Dave Mckeans style as surrealistic also because he got two different images and put it together and fit it together and in a way it hid the man, I also like how the man's body is the books. I think that thats why it represents that the books are representing that they are building character for the man.

Maggie Taylor

Maggie Taylor's image "Burden of Dreams" caught my attention when I first saw it because the way this artist montaged different things to fit in this image and blend so well and be able to tell a story in this piece of art. To me this image is beautiful because it shows a woman's dreams. And in that dream it shows how she dreams of different animals, a piano, a book and even the world. To me the image above shows how one day she dreams of traveling the world not only because it shows it in her dream but because of the way Maggie Taylor put glasses on the woman as if she was flying a plane. Another thing that caught my attention was that the woman is inside a circle which can be as if she was on a plane. I might be over thinking the meaning of this image but to me it also means how woman are allowed to dream also. I would describe "Burden of Dreams as a surrealistic image. Maggie Taylor did an amazing job with this image and her style of art is really good because she takes various images and puts it into one telling a story behind it.

Pedro Meyer

When looking through Pedro Meyer's picture one of the images that caught my attention was the image above. It caught my attention because the girl dressed as an angel is innocent and is unaware of the lady who seems like is going to do a type of ritual on her. Even though the lady has been photoshopped, it makes it seems that she is against religion. I think what Meyer was trying to say in this image was that not all people agree on everything and one of them is religion, everyone has different opinions. Another was of looking at this image is that the lady might not be doing anything bad to the girl but can also be doing a ritual where she protects her from the bad spirits, i know some cultures believe that that another way of protecting someone is through a type of ritual. I would characterize the style of this image as realistic. I love how Pedro Meyer gets different parts of images and cuts them and makes them into one changing the story behind the original one. In this image for example the original was of the girl dressed as an angel and girls behind her she then added the lady and blurred out the girls in the background.
